The 14th Annual Pain Management Symposium

Tremendous changes have affected the practice of pain management, particularly therapeutic advances. This 5-day Symposium will promote a better understanding of the pathophysiology of acute and chronic pain, enhance knowledge regarding various chronic neuropathic pain conditions, and critically review novel state-of-the-art interventional and noninterventional techniques in diagnosis and management of chronic pain, cancer pain, and headache. A nationally renowned faculty will provide insightful assessment and clinical practice evaluation of the topics.

The Virginia Nursing Students’ Association invites you to exhibit at our 2012 Annual Convention in the state’s beautiful campus of UVA in Charlottesville, VA. This is an outstanding opportunity to recruit the brightest nursing students in Virginia. In past years, they have had approximately 600 students in attendance.
This event will provide students insight into the opportunities available for them in nursing – both traditional and non-traditional. The convention will be a daylong event comprised of a keynote speech and focus sessions with speakers from different avenues of the nursing field. They offer an optional NCLEX review for interested attendees.

Pain Medicine for the Non-Pain Specialist

Purpose: This program will address evidence-based practices as they relate to redesigning health care, nursing leadership for change, new models of care, and the future of nursing. A variety of perspectives will be presented by a clinically-focused evidence-based practice expert, health policy expert, and member of the Committee of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Initiative of the Future of Nursing at the Institute of Medicine. Implications for practice, education and research will be discussed from a lens in which nurses from all roles can relate, including staff nurses, specialty and organizational leaders, faculty and program directors, and those responsible for developing, implementing, teaching, and evaluating evidence-based nursing care of the future. Opportunities for networking and sharing ideas will be available.

Explain prevention strategies that use multidisciplinary approaches for addressing wellness issues facing school communities. Facilitate interaction on a professional and social level.
