Educational Meetings
The organization
holds an annual conference each year. Members have an opportunity
to hear leading authorities address current topics of interest
to nurses involved in pain management. Members receive discount
registration fees and contact hours for educational programs. Our next conference will be in Tucson Arizona, September 3-6, 2008.

Publications
ASPMN Pathways,
featuring ASPMN news, job opportunities,
and a calendar of events is published several
times each year.
 Membership also
includes a subscription to Pain
Management Nursing, a new peer-reviewed journal offering
a unique focus on the realm of pain management as it applies
to nursing. Expect original and review articles
from experts in the field offering key insights in the areas
of clinical practice, advocacy, education, administration,
and research. Additional features include practice guidelines
and pharmacology updates.

ASPMN's dues are billed each year in December with a December 31 expiration date. Please pay the prorated amount your first year, and then you will be billed in December for the full next year's amount. Below is a chart for your reference.

Membership
Categories
Active
Membership
Any United States citizen or permanent resident who is licensed
to practice as a professional registered nurse and is interested
in pain management. An active member may vote, hold office,
and serve on committees.
International
Membership
A professional registered nurse licensed and practicing outside
the United States, and not licensed in the United States.
International members shall be excluded from holding office
and voting. An international member may be asked to be a non-voting
committee member if approved by the Board of Directors.
Student
Membership
An individual enrolled full-time in programs leading to eligibility
for registered nurse licensure, BSN degree completion, and
advanced degrees. Student members shall be excluded from holding
office and serving on committees.
Associate
Membership - NEW!
Includes
LPN/LVNs and other healthcare professionals who are interested
in ASPMN's goals (pharmacists, social workers, etc.). Associate
members shall be excluded from holding office and voting. An
associate member may be a member of a committee.
Corporate
Membership
Corporate members are organizations, corporations, or individuals
who financially support ASPMN. Corporate members shall be
excluded from voting, chapter membership, holding elected
office, and serving as committee members. For a corporate
